Ingredients
- 60 ml Mezcal
- 60 ml Grapefruit juice
- 15 ml Lime juice
- 10 ml Agave syrup
- 60 ml Soda water
- Garnish Grapefruit wedge
Preparation
- Rim the highball with salt. Don't know how? Moisten the rim with a citrus wedge, then dip it in a plate of salt.
- Shake mezcal, juices and syrup with ice.
- Strain into a highball over ice. Don't know how? Pour the drink through a strainer (or the built-in strainer on your shaker) to catch the ice and any solids.
- Top with soda.
- Garnish with grapefruit wedge. A wedge is a thick, lengthwise slice — usually a quarter or eighth of the fruit.
Origin Story
The Mezcal Paloma is a variation of the traditional Paloma, substituting mezcal for tequila to add depth and complexity. This drink has become popular in the 21st century as mezcal has become a favored spirit among cocktail enthusiasts.
