Paloma Negra

Ingredients

  • 45 ml Mezcal
  • 60 ml Grapefruit juice
  • 15 ml Lime juice
  • 10 ml Sugar syrup
  • 1 pinch Activated charcoal
  • 60 ml Soda water
  • Garnish Grapefruit wedge

Preparation

  1. Shake mezcal, juices, syrup and charcoal with ice.
  2. Strain into a highball glass over ice. Don't know how? Pour the drink through a strainer (or the built-in strainer on your shaker) to catch the ice and any solids.
  3. Top with soda.
  4. Garnish with grapefruit wedge. A wedge is a thick, lengthwise slice — usually a quarter or eighth of the fruit.

Origin Story

The Paloma Negra is a contemporary twist on the classic Paloma, incorporating mezcal for a smoky flavor. This drink has gained traction in recent years as mezcal's popularity has surged in the cocktail world.
