Ingredients
- 45 ml Mezcal
- 60 ml Grapefruit juice
- 15 ml Lime juice
- 10 ml Sugar syrup
- 1 pinch Activated charcoal
- 60 ml Soda water
- Garnish Grapefruit wedge
Preparation
- Shake mezcal, juices, syrup and charcoal with ice.
- Strain into a highball glass over ice. Don't know how? Pour the drink through a strainer (or the built-in strainer on your shaker) to catch the ice and any solids.
- Top with soda.
- Garnish with grapefruit wedge. A wedge is a thick, lengthwise slice — usually a quarter or eighth of the fruit.
Origin Story
The Paloma Negra is a contemporary twist on the classic Paloma, incorporating mezcal for a smoky flavor. This drink has gained traction in recent years as mezcal's popularity has surged in the cocktail world.
