Ingredients
- 60 ml Mezcal
- 30 ml Lime juice
- 22.5 ml Triple sec
- 10 ml Agave syrup
- Garnish Lime wheel
Preparation
- Rim the rocks glass over ice with salt. Don't know how? Moisten the rim with a citrus wedge, then dip it in a plate of salt.
- Shake all ingredients with ice.
- Strain into a rocks glass over ice. Don't know how? Pour the drink through a strainer (or the built-in strainer on your shaker) to catch the ice and any solids.
- Garnish with lime wheel. A wheel is a thin, round cross-section slice of the whole fruit.
Origin Story
The Mezcal Margarita gained popularity in the early 2000s as mezcal began to emerge as a trendy alternative to tequila. This cocktail reflects the growing appreciation for artisanal spirits and the unique flavors mezcal brings to classic recipes.
