Origin Story
The Smoky Margarita emerged in the early 2000s as a modern twist on the classic Margarita, incorporating mezcal for its distinctive smoky flavor. This innovation reflects a growing appreciation for mezcal in cocktail culture, particularly in regions where both tequila and mezcal are produced.
