Test Pilot

Ingredients

  • 45 ml Dark Jamaican rum
  • 22.5 ml Puerto Rican rum
  • 15 ml Lime juice
  • 15 ml Falernum Caribbean syrup with lime, almond, and spices
  • 10 ml Triple sec
  • 1 dash Angostura bitters
  • 2 drop Absinthe
  • Garnish Cherry

Preparation

  1. Shake all ingredients with ice.
  2. Strain into a tiki mug over crushed ice. Don't know how? Pour the drink through a strainer (or the built-in strainer on your shaker) to catch the ice and any solids.
  3. Garnish with cherry.

Origin Story

The Test Pilot cocktail is a product of the Tiki craze that swept the U.S. in the 1940s and 1950s, often associated with the inventive spirit of tiki bars. Its bold combination of rums and spices evokes the adventurous nature of its namesake.
