Ingredients
- 45 ml Mezcal
- 15 ml Crème de cassis
- 15 ml Lime juice
- 90 ml Ginger beer
- Garnish Lime wedge
Preparation
- Shake mezcal, cassis and lime with ice.
- Strain into a highball glass over ice. Don't know how? Pour the drink through a strainer (or the built-in strainer on your shaker) to catch the ice and any solids.
- Top with ginger beer.
- Garnish with lime wedge. A wedge is a thick, lengthwise slice — usually a quarter or eighth of the fruit.
Origin Story
El Diablo, originally made with tequila, has evolved to include mezcal in this variation, reflecting the increasing popularity of mezcal in cocktail culture. The drink's origins trace back to the mid-20th century, when it became known for its vibrant flavors and spirited name.
