Alaska

Ingredients

  • 52.5 ml Gin
  • 22.5 ml Yellow Chartreuse
  • 2 dashes Orange bitters
  • Garnish Lemon twist

Preparation

  1. Stir all ingredients with ice.
  2. Strain into a chilled coupe glass. Don't know how? Pour the drink through a strainer (or the built-in strainer on your shaker) to catch the ice and any solids.
  3. Garnish with lemon twist. Use a peeler or knife to cut a wide strip, avoiding the white pith. Twist it over the drink to release the oils, then drop it in.

Origin Story

The Alaska cocktail is thought to have originated in the early 20th century, with its first known appearance in cocktail books during the 1910s. Its name is often attributed to the gold rush era, symbolizing the adventurous spirit of the time.
