Tuxedo No. 2

Ingredients

  • 45 ml Gin
  • 45 ml Fino sherry
  • 2 dashes Orange bitters
  • Garnish Lemon twist

Preparation

  1. Stir all ingredients with ice.
  2. Strain into a chilled coupe glass. Don't know how? Pour the drink through a strainer (or the built-in strainer on your shaker) to catch the ice and any solids.
  3. Garnish with lemon twist. Use a peeler or knife to cut a wide strip, avoiding the white pith. Twist it over the drink to release the oils, then drop it in.

Origin Story

The Tuxedo No. 2 is believed to have originated in the late 19th century, likely in the United States, as a variation of the classic Tuxedo cocktail. It gained popularity among the cocktail elite and is often associated with the refined social gatherings of the era.
