Ingredients

  • 45 ml Rye whiskey e.g. Rittenhouse, Bulleit Rye, Old Overholt
  • 22.5 ml Apple brandy
  • 22.5 ml Yellow Chartreuse

Preparation

  1. Stir all ingredients with ice.
  2. Strain into a chilled coupe glass. Don't know how? Pour the drink through a strainer (or the built-in strainer on your shaker) to catch the ice and any solids.

The Diamondback cocktail emerged in the early 20th century, likely in New York City, and is believed to have been created during the Prohibition era. It combines rye whiskey with apple brandy and Yellow Chartreuse, reflecting the era's creative cocktail culture.
