Ingredients
- 60 ml Gin
- 30 ml Lemon juice
- 15 ml Sugar syrup
- 60 ml Soda water
- Garnish Lemon wheel, cherry
Preparation
- Shake gin, lemon juice and syrup with ice.
- Strain into a Collins glass over ice. Don't know how? Pour the drink through a strainer (or the built-in strainer on your shaker) to catch the ice and any solids.
- Top with soda water.
- Garnish with lemon wheel, cherry. A wheel is a thin, round cross-section slice of the whole fruit.
Origin Story
The Tom Collins dates back to the 19th century, with its first recorded recipe appearing in the 1870s. It is named after a hoax that circulated in New York City and has since become a refreshing classic cocktail.
