Tom Collins

Ingredients

  • 60 ml Gin
  • 30 ml Lemon juice
  • 15 ml Sugar syrup
  • 60 ml Soda water
  • Garnish Lemon wheel, cherry

Preparation

  1. Shake gin, lemon juice and syrup with ice.
  2. Strain into a Collins glass over ice. Don't know how? Pour the drink through a strainer (or the built-in strainer on your shaker) to catch the ice and any solids.
  3. Top with soda water.
  4. Garnish with lemon wheel, cherry. A wheel is a thin, round cross-section slice of the whole fruit.

Origin Story

The Tom Collins dates back to the 19th century, with its first recorded recipe appearing in the 1870s. It is named after a hoax that circulated in New York City and has since become a refreshing classic cocktail.
