Flip (Rum)

Ingredients

  • 60 ml Dark rum
  • 15 ml Sugar syrup
  • 1 piece Whole egg
  • Garnish Grated nutmeg

Preparation

  1. Dry shake all ingredients.
  2. Shake with ice.
  3. Strain into a chilled coupe glass. Don't know how? Pour the drink through a strainer (or the built-in strainer on your shaker) to catch the ice and any solids.
  4. Garnish with grated nutmeg.

Origin Story

The Rum Flip is a variation of the traditional flip cocktail, which dates back to the 17th century. It gained popularity in colonial America, where rum was a favored spirit, particularly in the Caribbean.
