Eggnog

  • 30 ml Cognac
  • 30 ml Dark rum
  • 1 piece Whole egg
  • 22.5 ml Sugar syrup
  • 45 ml Milk
  • 30 ml Heavy cream high-fat cream (36%+), also called double cream
  • Garnish Grated nutmeg

Preparation

  1. Shake all ingredients without ice.
  2. Shake with ice.
  3. Strain into a rocks glass. Don't know how? Pour the drink through a strainer (or the built-in strainer on your shaker) to catch the ice and any solids.
  4. Garnish with grated nutmeg.

Origin Story

Eggnog has its roots in medieval Europe, where it was originally a warm drink made with milk and eggs. It became popular in America during the 18th century, especially around the holidays, often spiked with rum or brandy.
