Piña Colada

Ingredients

  • 60 ml White rum
  • 45 ml Coconut cream
  • 90 ml Pineapple juice
  • Garnish Pineapple wedge, cherry

Preparation

  1. Blend all ingredients with a cup of crushed ice until smooth.
  2. Pour into a hurricane glass.
  3. Garnish with pineapple wedge, cherry. A wedge is a thick, lengthwise slice — usually a quarter or eighth of the fruit.

Origin Story

The Piña Colada was created in Puerto Rico in the 1950s, with various claims to its invention, including a bartender at the Caribe Hilton. It quickly became a symbol of tropical cocktails and is often associated with beach vacations.
