Ingredients
- 45 ml Dark rum
- 22.5 ml Campari
- 45 ml Pineapple juice
- 15 ml Lime juice
- 15 ml Demerara syrup syrup made with raw cane sugar
- Garnish Pineapple wedge
Preparation
- Shake all ingredients with ice.
- Strain into a rocks glass over ice. Don't know how? Pour the drink through a strainer (or the built-in strainer on your shaker) to catch the ice and any solids.
- Garnish with pineapple wedge. A wedge is a thick, lengthwise slice — usually a quarter or eighth of the fruit.
Origin Story
The Jungle Bird cocktail was created in the late 1970s at the Aviary Bar in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It is a tropical drink that combines rum with Campari and pineapple juice, capturing the essence of tiki culture.
