Hurricane

Ingredients

  • 30 ml Dark rum
  • 30 ml White rum
  • 60 ml Passion fruit juice
  • 30 ml Orange juice
  • 15 ml Lime juice
  • 15 ml Grenadine
  • 15 ml Sugar syrup
  • Garnish Orange slice, cherry

Preparation

  1. Shake all ingredients with ice.
  2. Strain into a hurricane glass over ice. Don't know how? Pour the drink through a strainer (or the built-in strainer on your shaker) to catch the ice and any solids.
  3. Garnish with orange slice, cherry.

Origin Story

The Hurricane cocktail was invented in the 1940s in New Orleans, Louisiana, at Pat O'Brien's bar. It was created to use up excess rum and quickly became a signature drink of the city's vibrant nightlife.
