Ingredients
- 60 ml White rum
- 22.5 ml Lemon juice
- 22.5 ml Honey syrup
- Garnish Lemon twist
Preparation
- Shake all ingredients with ice.
- Strain into a chilled coupe glass. Don't know how? Pour the drink through a strainer (or the built-in strainer on your shaker) to catch the ice and any solids.
- Garnish with lemon twist. Use a peeler or knife to cut a wide strip, avoiding the white pith. Twist it over the drink to release the oils, then drop it in.
Origin Story
The Bees Knees, particularly in its rum variation known as Honey Bee, is a classic cocktail that emerged during Prohibition in the 1920s as a way to mask the taste of poorly made spirits. Its combination of honey and citrus reflects the era's creativity in cocktail making.
