Greenpoint (Original)

Ingredients

  • 60 ml Rye whiskey e.g. Rittenhouse, Bulleit Rye, Old Overholt
  • 15 ml Sweet vermouth e.g. Carpano Antica, Cocchi di Torino
  • 7.5 ml Yellow Chartreuse
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters
  • Garnish Lemon twist

Preparation

  1. Stir all ingredients with ice.
  2. Strain into a chilled coupe glass. Don't know how? Pour the drink through a strainer (or the built-in strainer on your shaker) to catch the ice and any solids.
  3. Garnish with lemon twist. Use a peeler or knife to cut a wide strip, avoiding the white pith. Twist it over the drink to release the oils, then drop it in.

The Greenpoint cocktail originated in Brooklyn, New York, around the mid-2000s, named after the Greenpoint neighborhood. It represents a blend of traditional and modern influences, highlighting the resurgence of rye whiskey in cocktail culture.
