Brandy Alexander

Ingredients

  • 30 ml Cognac
  • 30 ml Crème de cacao (dark)
  • 30 ml Heavy cream high-fat cream (36%+), also called double cream
  • Garnish Grated nutmeg

Preparation

  1. Shake all ingredients with ice.
  2. Strain into a chilled coupe glass. Don't know how? Pour the drink through a strainer (or the built-in strainer on your shaker) to catch the ice and any solids.
  3. Add grate nutmeg on top.
  4. Garnish with grated nutmeg.

Origin Story

The Brandy Alexander cocktail originated in the early 20th century, possibly as a variation of the classic Alexander cocktail. It gained popularity during Prohibition and has been a favorite ever since.
