Ingredients
- 45 ml Bourbon e.g. Maker's Mark, Buffalo Trace, Woodford Reserve
- 30 ml Lillet Blanc
- 15 ml Gentiane liqueur e.g. Suze, Salers
- Garnish Grapefruit peel
Preparation
- Stir all ingredients with ice.
- Strain into a rocks glass over a large ice cube. Don't know how? Pour the drink through a strainer (or the built-in strainer on your shaker) to catch the ice and any solids.
- Garnish with grapefruit peel. Use a peeler or knife to cut a wide strip, avoiding the white pith. Twist it over the drink to release the oils, then drop it in.
Origin Story
The Boulevardier Blanc is a contemporary take on the classic Boulevardier, which dates back to the 1920s. This variation incorporates lighter ingredients, showcasing the cocktail's adaptability and the trend towards using aperitifs in modern mixology.
