Angostura Colada

Ingredients

  • 30 ml Angostura bitters
  • 45 ml Coconut cream
  • 90 ml Pineapple juice
  • 15 ml Lime juice
  • Garnish Pineapple wedge, grated nutmeg

Preparation

  1. Blend all ingredients with crushed ice until smooth.
  2. Pour into a hurricane glass.
  3. Garnish with pineapple wedge, grated nutmeg. A wedge is a thick, lengthwise slice — usually a quarter or eighth of the fruit.

Origin Story

The Angostura Colada is a modern take on the classic piña colada, emerging from the Tiki cocktail movement in the mid-20th century. It incorporates Angostura bitters, adding a unique twist to the traditional tropical flavors.
