Ingredients
- 60 ml Tequila blanco
- 45 ml Watermelon juice
- 22.5 ml Lime juice
- 15 ml Triple sec
- Garnish Watermelon wedge
Preparation
- Shake all ingredients with ice.
- Strain into a rocks glass over ice. Don't know how? Pour the drink through a strainer (or the built-in strainer on your shaker) to catch the ice and any solids.
- Garnish with watermelon wedge. A wedge is a thick, lengthwise slice — usually a quarter or eighth of the fruit.
Origin Story
The Watermelon Margarita emerged in the late 20th century as a refreshing summer drink, particularly in the United States. It reflects the broader trend of fruit-infused cocktails that gained traction during the craft cocktail revival.
