Right Hand

Ingredients

  • 45 ml Dark rum
  • 22.5 ml Sweet vermouth e.g. Carpano Antica, Cocchi di Torino
  • 22.5 ml Campari
  • 2 dashes Chocolate bitters
  • Garnish Orange peel

Preparation

  1. Stir all ingredients with ice.
  2. Strain into a chilled coupe glass. Don't know how? Pour the drink through a strainer (or the built-in strainer on your shaker) to catch the ice and any solids.
  3. Garnish with orange peel. Use a peeler or knife to cut a wide strip, avoiding the white pith. Twist it over the drink to release the oils, then drop it in.

Origin Story

The Right Hand cocktail emerged alongside its counterpart, the Left Hand, in the early 2000s, featuring dark rum and a similar structure. This drink reflects the creativity of modern mixologists exploring rum's potential in classic-style cocktails.
