Chrysanthemum Cocktail

Ingredients

  • 60 ml Dry vermouth e.g. Noilly Prat, Dolin Dry
  • 15 ml Bénédictine
  • 1 barspoon Absinthe
  • Garnish Orange peel

Preparation

  1. Stir all ingredients with ice.
  2. Strain into a Nick & Nora glass. Don't know how? Pour the drink through a strainer (or the built-in strainer on your shaker) to catch the ice and any solids.
  3. Garnish with orange peel. Use a peeler or knife to cut a wide strip, avoiding the white pith. Twist it over the drink to release the oils, then drop it in.

Origin Story

The Chrysanthemum Cocktail emerged in the early 20th century, with its first known recipes appearing in the 1930s. This low-alcohol drink reflects the era's experimentation with vermouth and herbal liqueurs.
