Bronx

Ingredients

  • 45 ml Gin
  • 15 ml Sweet vermouth e.g. Carpano Antica, Cocchi di Torino
  • 15 ml Dry vermouth e.g. Noilly Prat, Dolin Dry
  • 22.5 ml Orange juice
  • Garnish Orange peel

Preparation

  1. Shake all ingredients with ice.
  2. Strain into a chilled coupe glass. Don't know how? Pour the drink through a strainer (or the built-in strainer on your shaker) to catch the ice and any solids.
  3. Garnish with orange peel. Use a peeler or knife to cut a wide strip, avoiding the white pith. Twist it over the drink to release the oils, then drop it in.

Origin Story

The Bronx cocktail is believed to have been created in the early 1900s, with some attributing its invention to a bartender at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York City. It represents a blend of gin and vermouth, showcasing the cocktail trends of its time.
