Southside Fizz

Ingredients

  • 60 ml Gin
  • 22.5 ml Lime juice
  • 15 ml Sugar syrup
  • 6 leaves Mint leaves
  • 60 ml Soda water
  • Garnish Mint sprig

Preparation

  1. Shake gin, lime, syrup and mint with ice.
  2. Double strain into a Collins glass over ice.
  3. Top with soda.
  4. Garnish with mint sprig.

The Southside Fizz is thought to have originated in the 1920s in Chicago, linked to the South Side neighborhood known for its jazz and speakeasies. This cocktail combines gin with mint and citrus, embodying the refreshing drinks of the Prohibition era.
