Singapore Sling

Ingredients

  • 30 ml Gin
  • 15 ml Cherry Heering
  • 7.5 ml Bénédictine
  • 7.5 ml Triple sec
  • 120 ml Pineapple juice
  • 15 ml Lime juice
  • 10 ml Grenadine
  • 1 dash Angostura bitters
  • Garnish Pineapple wedge, cherry

Preparation

  1. Shake all ingredients with ice.
  2. Strain into an ice-filled Collins glass. Don't know how? Pour the drink through a strainer (or the built-in strainer on your shaker) to catch the ice and any solids.
  3. Garnish with pineapple wedge, cherry. A wedge is a thick, lengthwise slice — usually a quarter or eighth of the fruit.

Origin Story

The Singapore Sling was invented in the early 20th century at the Raffles Hotel in Singapore. It was originally crafted as a refreshing drink for women during a time when cocktails were typically considered a man's domain.
