Ingredients
- 45 ml Reposado tequila
- 15 ml Mezcal
- 10 ml Agave syrup
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters
- Garnish Orange peel, flamed
Preparation
- Stir all ingredients with ice.
- Strain into a rocks glass over a large ice cube. Don't know how? Pour the drink through a strainer (or the built-in strainer on your shaker) to catch the ice and any solids.
- Flame an orange peel over the drink.
- Garnish with orange peel, flamed. Use a peeler or knife to cut a wide strip, avoiding the white pith. Twist it over the drink to release the oils, then drop it in.
Origin Story
The Oaxaca Old Fashioned emerged in the early 21st century as a modern twist on the classic Old Fashioned, incorporating mezcal to highlight the flavors of Oaxaca, Mexico. It reflects the contemporary cocktail movement's embrace of artisanal spirits.
