Hemingway Margarita

Ingredients

  • 60 ml Tequila blanco
  • 22.5 ml Grapefruit juice
  • 15 ml Lime juice
  • 15 ml Maraschino liqueur e.g. Luxardo
  • Garnish Grapefruit twist

Preparation

  1. Shake all ingredients with ice.
  2. Strain into a chilled coupe glass. Don't know how? Pour the drink through a strainer (or the built-in strainer on your shaker) to catch the ice and any solids.
  3. Garnish with grapefruit twist. Use a peeler or knife to cut a wide strip, avoiding the white pith. Twist it over the drink to release the oils, then drop it in.

Origin Story

The Hemingway Margarita is thought to have been created in the mid-20th century, inspired by the famed writer Ernest Hemingway's love for both tequila and cocktails. This drink combines elements of a traditional margarita with a twist, reflecting Hemingway's adventurous spirit.
