Gin and Tonic

Ingredients

  • 60 ml Gin
  • 120 ml Tonic water
  • Garnish Lime wedge

Preparation

  1. Build in a highball glass over ice.
  2. Add gin.
  3. Top with tonic water.
  4. Stir gently.
  5. Garnish with lime wedge. A wedge is a thick, lengthwise slice — usually a quarter or eighth of the fruit.

Origin Story

The Gin and Tonic originated in the 19th century, primarily as a way for British colonial officers in India to consume quinine, a malaria treatment, mixed with gin. It has since evolved into a refreshing classic enjoyed worldwide.
