- 60 ml Gin
- 120 ml Tonic water
- Garnish Lime wedge
Preparation
- Build in a highball glass over ice.
- Add gin.
- Top with tonic water.
- Stir gently.
- Garnish with lime wedge. A wedge is a thick, lengthwise slice — usually a quarter or eighth of the fruit.
Origin Story
The Gin and Tonic originated in the 19th century, primarily as a way for British colonial officers in India to consume quinine, a malaria treatment, mixed with gin. It has since evolved into a refreshing classic enjoyed worldwide.
