Suffering Bastard (Tiki)

Ingredients

  • 30 ml Gin
  • 30 ml Cognac
  • 15 ml Lime juice
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters
  • 120 ml Ginger beer
  • Garnish Mint sprig

Preparation

  1. Shake spirits, lime and bitters with ice.
  2. Strain into a tiki mug over ice. Don't know how? Pour the drink through a strainer (or the built-in strainer on your shaker) to catch the ice and any solids.
  3. Top with ginger beer.
  4. Garnish with mint sprig.

The Suffering Bastard cocktail has roots in the 1940s, originally created as a hangover remedy in Cairo. The Tiki variation reflects the cocktail's evolution, incorporating tropical flavors and ingredients popular in Tiki culture.
