Long Island Iced Tea

Ingredients

  • 15 ml Vodka
  • 15 ml Gin
  • 15 ml White rum
  • 15 ml Tequila blanco
  • 15 ml Triple sec
  • 25 ml Lemon juice
  • 15 ml Sugar syrup
  • 30 ml Cola
  • Garnish Lemon wedge

Preparation

  1. Shake all spirits, lemon juice and syrup with ice.
  2. Strain into an ice-filled highball glass. Don't know how? Pour the drink through a strainer (or the built-in strainer on your shaker) to catch the ice and any solids.
  3. Top with cola.
  4. Garnish with lemon wedge. A wedge is a thick, lengthwise slice — usually a quarter or eighth of the fruit.

Origin Story

The Long Island Iced Tea cocktail is believed to have originated in the 1970s in Long Island, New York. Its name is a misnomer, as it contains no tea but is a potent mix of various spirits.
