Gimlet

Ingredients

  • 60 ml Gin
  • 30 ml Lime juice
  • 15 ml Sugar syrup
  • Garnish Lime wheel

Preparation

  1. Shake all ingredients with ice.
  2. Strain into a chilled coupe glass. Don't know how? Pour the drink through a strainer (or the built-in strainer on your shaker) to catch the ice and any solids.
  3. Garnish with lime wheel. A wheel is a thin, round cross-section slice of the whole fruit.

Origin Story

The Gimlet is thought to have originated in the 19th century, initially created as a way to encourage sailors to consume lime juice to prevent scurvy. It has since evolved into a classic cocktail, enjoyed for its simplicity and balance.
