Ingredients
- 45 ml Scotch e.g. Johnnie Walker, Monkey Shoulder
- 45 ml Sweet vermouth e.g. Carpano Antica, Cocchi di Torino
- 10 ml Bénédictine
- Garnish Lemon peel
Preparation
- Stir all ingredients with ice.
- Strain into a chilled coupe glass. Don't know how? Pour the drink through a strainer (or the built-in strainer on your shaker) to catch the ice and any solids.
- Garnish with lemon peel. Use a peeler or knife to cut a wide strip, avoiding the white pith. Twist it over the drink to release the oils, then drop it in.
Origin Story
The Bobby Burns cocktail dates back to the late 19th century and is named after the famous Scottish poet Robert Burns. Variations of this drink, including the one featuring Scotch, sweet vermouth, and Bénédictine, have emerged as bartenders seek to put their own spin on this classic, celebrating its rich heritage.
