Origin story
The modern Mai Tai is a reinterpretation of the classic tiki cocktail that emerged in the 1940s, primarily credited to Trader Vic's and Don the Beachcomber. While the original Mai Tai was a simple blend of rum and lime, the modern version incorporates a variety of rums and flavors to create a more complex and vibrant drink.
