Ingredients: 180 ml Red wine; 2 barspoon Sugar; 1 piece Orange peel; 1 piece Cinnamon stick; 4 piece Cloves; 1 piece Star anise

Served in an Irish coffee glass

Ingredients

180 ml Red wine
2 barspoon Sugar
1 piece Orange peel
1 piece Cinnamon stick
4 piece Cloves
1 piece Star anise

Preparation

Heat all ingredients gently without boiling. Strain into a glass.

Origin story

Glühwein, or mulled wine, has roots in Germany and has been enjoyed since the Middle Ages as a way to warm up during the cold winter months. It is often served at Christmas markets across Europe.
